Milwaukee EC calibration fluid (1413 / 12880 uS/cm) is a solution for calibrating and adjusting household and horticultural EC meters (conductivity meters). EC meters are typically used in agriculture and horticulture, but they are also suitable for determining water purity, e.g. in aquaristics. EC calibration solution is required for EC measuring instruments.
The meters are usually calibrated by manufacturers at the factory, but the factory setting can change over time. Therefore, the instrument must be calibrated before measurements. A calibration solution must be used for this. To start, it is worth rinsing the electrode of the instrument with demineralized RO water. After this, the EC value of the liquid can be measured, thus the accuracy of the instrument will be visible. If the deviation value is greater than the accuracy of the instrument, calibration is necessary. After calibration, the instrument will measure more accurately, a deviation of 1-2% is acceptable. This solution can also be used for TDS meters.
